But let’s face it: A “sale” isn’t much of a bargain if you’re breaking the bank to get a deal. Shelling out $250+ for an item just to say you got it at a special price is bound to result in some serious buyer’s remorse — that icky feeling of guilt no one wants post-shopping spree.
Lucky for you, I’ve broken down some of the best finds in the sale by price categories below, making it super easy to shop for your budget — whatever that might be.
Nordstrom cardmembers can get a jump on the goods from now through July 18 (apply here), while the rest of us schmucks can get a sneak peak at what will be up for grabs to the public from July 19 through August 4.
A word to the wise, however — the best deals tend to get snatched up fast, so if there’s something you want, don’t dilly-dally — there’s a good chance that hundreds of other people want it, too.
Go get ’em, tigers!

Under $50
BP. Midi Slipdress ($38.90, down from $59): I kind of forgot how much I loved slip dresses until I recently picked one up for my friend Sam’s “rock and roll” baby shower (I went as Courtney Love — as if that was even a question). There’s a reason this silhouette ruled the ’90s, people! With two prints to choose from, adjustable straps and a mid-thigh slip, this particular slipdress seems more wearable than most — particularly for shorties like me! — and it’s doubly cute to boot. Sold!
Sole Society Lucie Faux Leather Bag ($45.90, down from $69.95): Sure, leather bags are great and all (minus, you know, the animal skin), but when you have a bag that looks just as luxe as the real deal and comes at a fraction of the cost, who gives a f*ck? Not me! This is one of the nicest bags in the sale, so I’m not surprised to find it ALREADY sold out, though I’d keep a keen eye out for its return — my money’s on a restock for the general public sale.
Row A Cinch-Front Mini-Dress ($33.90, down from $55): Flirty and fun, this cinch-front frock is bound to become your new summer staple in either the pictured leopard print or a skyblue floral print — simply add some wedges and hit the streets!
BP. Bishop Long-Sleeve Blouse ($35.90, down from $55): Remember when I told you buttons were suddenly becoming a “thing?” Welp, it appears to be a fad that’s not going away anytime soon. This billowy-sleeve blouse features the closures at both the chest and the cuffs for a super easy on-trend look.
PST by Project Social I Don’t Need Coffee Tee ($18.90, down from $29): Not only does this top tell the story of my life (gimme!), it’s a total steal at less than $20.
Topshop Utility Midi Skirt ($44.90, down from $68): I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s no more flattering silhouette on Earth than that of a pencil, or “midi,” skirt: Its high cut gives you an instantly cinched waistline. Due to its long history of popping up in office settings, however, the midi also tends to give an overly polished vibe that doesn’t quite work on more casual days. I love this Topshop number because it manages to make the look truly accessible. Thanks to its fun color and casual patch-style pockets, you can totally wear this out and about for your daily grind. Hallelujah!
Kate Spade Sailor’s Knot Bangle ($49.90, down from $78): The right bangle can give any outfit a touch of sophistication, which is kind of the name of Kate Spade’s game. This knotted style is subtle, but chic — an investment piece, really — that you’ll no doubt get enough use out of to make it well worth its sale tag price.
Madewell Star & Chain Drop Earrings ($16.90, down from $26): How darling are these dainty little star earrings? Like studs with a little added flair, they give just the right amount of oomph and feature sterling silver post backs for those (like me), with sensitive ears.
Under $100
BB Dakota Crop Jumpsuit ($71.90, down from $108): Before you balk at the idea of spending $72 on a garment you’ll just be shoving into the back of your closet in a month or two, I’m going to let you in a little secret: Jumpsuits aren’t just one of summer’s trendiest ensembles. They can be easily transitioned into subsequent seasons with a little crafty styling. Throw a jacket, a pair of closed-toe pumps and some jewelry on with this BB Dakota find, and you’ve got a perfectly acceptable outfit for a night-out on the town (er, indoors). The sash on this one is also removable for an even more streamlined look.
UGG Qori Rib-Knit Boot ($89.90, down from $139.95): Hate on the Beckys all you want — UGGs are insanely comfortable. If you’re down with the cozy aspect but sick-to-death of seeing the same tired ass brown boots on every corner (*raises hand*), these knitted treasures will be your Godsend.
Gibson Teddy Bear Faux-Fur Jacket ($58.90, down from $88): Finally! A fleece that isn’t unsightly as all get out! Bless you, Gibson, for figuring out how to combine a flattering cut with this gloriously-warm-but-bulky material.
ASTR the Label Lace Midi Dress ($58.90, down from $89): This struck me as the PERFECT dress for summer weddings, which is convenient, seeing as how we’re smack dab in the middle of wedding season. Heck, with seven colors to choose from at a totally reasonable price, you can buy it in bulk for every ceremony on your calendar! Genius.
ADIDAS Swift Run Sneaker ($63.90, down from $85): I don’t even LIKE sneakers, and even I’m sold on these knitted gym shoes. They’re cute as hell! More importantly, perhaps, they’ve also got an OrthoLite cushioned footbed (so sexy, I know), that will make walking (or running, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing) in them a dream.
The North Face Rissy 2 Hooded Water Repellant Raincoat ($89.90, down from $120): I’m not typically a huge fan of The North Face (if you know me, you know I have a searing hatred for puffer coats of any kind), but I can actually get on board with this affordable little raincoat. It’s a helluva lot cuter than a poncho (not to mention longer lasting!), you can throw it in the washing machine and it has a hood for keeping your hair — and by hair, I obviously mean bangs — dry when summer rains are at their worst.
Cole Haan GrandPro Spectator 2.0 Slip-Ons ($84.90, down from $130): There was once a time that “neutral” meant one of two colors — black or brown (never both together, no matter what Kevin and my BFF Amy say: bleh!). In recent years, however, a third shade has risen up as a neutral-alternative, courtesy of millennials everywhere: blush pink. I wouldn’t exactly be keen to mix it with, say, a bold red or a bright orange, but it goes with a lot more colors than you might imagine — forest green, for instance. Though they also come in black or white, I like these leather Cole Haan beauties (which, by the way, are up for grabs at a KILLER price for the designer brand) in pink best, if only for a different footwear option.
Leith Belted Trench Coat ($52.90, down from $89): This initially caught my eye because I thought it was a badass kimono. While it’s technically a trench coat, the material is described as “silk-like,” so I’ve got a snaking suspicion (get it?) that I could I could easily go with my first instinct and ditch its removable belt to wear it as a top, instead. So versatile!
Under $150
PAIGE Transcend Skyline Skinny Jeans ($109.90, down from $199): If you’re in the market for premium denim, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better deal than this — these bad boys are a whopping 45 percent off! I’m partial to PAIGE, as they make a lot of cuts that cater to shorter women (I’m 5’1 1/2, lay off!), but these curve-hugging finds should flatter anyone that favors a skinny cut. This particular pair is also super lightweight (the video describes them as “paper thin,” with not much more weight than a jegging), meaning you’ll be able to move around in them with ease — and take seconds at dinner without protest from your waistband.
BlankNYC Next Level Suede Moto Jacket ($125.90, down from $188): This suede number is probably my top pick from the entire sale: I’m OBSESSED. The cut is über-flatting, for one, and the unexpected colors (it also comes in soft fog) offer up some intrigue, since they stand out from the dime-a-dozen black or brown leathers typically found in this style. Maybe don’t buy this one, actually — at least until I buy my own. 🙂
Sorel Cate Waterproof Lace-Up Boots ($124.90, down from $189.95): If you happen to live in Chicago like I do (or anywhere in the Midwest, really!), you already know that warm, waterproof footwear is absolutely essential come wintertime. The only problem? Most of the options that check the above boxes are, for lack of a better term, absolutely f*cking hideous. These Sorel gems manage to maintain a somewhat fashionable appearance while ensuring you won’t lose any toes for frostbite. You’re welcome!
Kenneth Cole New York Double-Breasted Teddy Bear Coat ($149.90, down from $228): Teddy bear coats all but took over last year at *the* it coat of the season (suck it, puffers!), and from the looks of things, they’ll still be around in abundance for winter 2019. Cozy-looking, no?
Charles by Charles David Nexus Boots ($149.90, down from $229.95): Sure, it’s a bit early to be in a boot frame of mind, but a deal’s a deal, am I right? With a ruched shaft and a 3.25″ block heel, these just might your perfect fall thigh-highs, provided you have wider calves (these are a little roomier than others). Bonus tip: There’s also a similarly-priced pair of wedge boots I like just as much, if not more than these that aren’t part of the Anniversary Sale, but are on special, nonetheless.
Coach Leather Foldover Convertible Clutch ($149.90, down from $225): For the most part, I was disappointed with the sale handbag selection found in this year’s sale (most decent finds were $165 and up), but this Coach clutch is a needle in a haystack. Don’t be deceived by its small(ish) size: There’s a TON of organized storage in here, with built-in slots for all your credit cards and a separate pocket for your money. It’s almost like a more convenient wallet, if you will, with a little extra give for your lipstick, tampons and any other trinkets you might need to tote while on-the-go. It also comes in two other colors, though I’m a big fan of the hot pink for the pop of color it’s sure to lend.
Tory Burch Leather Everly T-Strap Flats ($149.90, down from $228): Look, if you had told me five years ago I’d even be considering a pair of rich man’s flip flops, I’d have told you were insane — I’ve got a hard time swallowing such a high price tag for such little shoe! As I’ve gotten older, however, I’ve come to understand the importance of a quality flat. Cheap sandals KILL my feet — maybe even worse than stilettos — as the straps dig into my highly sensitive top foot skin and tear at the back of my heels. With Tory Burch, you’ll certainly pay more than you will for those $10 Target finds, but you’ll at least be able to count on baby soft leather that will cushion and comfort weary tootsies. You can also nab ’em in black or Sea Shell Pink — Oooh! Aaah!
Halogen Faux Shearling Moto Jacket ($118.90, down from $179): A chic alternative to the teddy coat comes in the form of this faux shearling moto, which offers up just as much style as it does warmth (helllloooooo, Penny Lane!). It’s also shockingly machine washable! (Who knew?)
