One thing about me: I love a witchy theme. The Craft was my favorite movie in middle school (it’s still pretty high up there, TBH) and I hauled my happy ass to the local “witch” store, Silver Moon, any chance I got to stock up on tapered candles, incense and mood rings galore—all of which I was quite certain would help me unleash my untapped “powers” unto the world. (Spoiler alert: I’m mortal.)
Awe Inspired’s jewelry sucked me in long ago with its amulets, oracle bracelets and tarot-themed pieces, but the brand’s latest Practical Magic 2 collection, released on Aug. 20, is almost more than my ‘90s-loving heart can bear.
Dropped just in time for film’s Sept. 10 release, the 11-piece collection, crafted from Awe Inspired’s signature 925 sterling silver or 14K gold vermeil and ranging from $95 to $475, is an amalgamation of what the brand calls “ancestral magic, protective talismans and moon-charged gemstones”—and I want it all.
Pieces are already selling out (and All Hallow’s Eve is just around the corner), so you’ll want to move fast if you want to snag the best of the best.
(And P.S.? My code, NICOLE15, works on the entire collection—you’re welcome.)
Below, my top collection picks.
The Best Awe Inspired x Practical Magic 2 Pieces
1. Carved Gemstone Deathwatch Beetle Ring
This eye-catching signet piece is the witchy gemstone ring I’ve dreamed of for years—it’s oh-so- chunky with the perfect silver finish. (Silver is often tied to the moon, and Awe Inspired’s metals are super high-quality—none of the pieces I’ve bought from the brand have ever tarnished.) The Owens family deathwatch beetle is hand-carved into your stone of choice (tiger’s eye, purple labradorite or blue lapis, sold out), but rather than foretelling doom, the brand has reimagined the beetle “as a protective talisman.” I went with the purple stone, which is said to enhance intuition.
2. Belladonna Potion Vial Pendant
This one’s already sold out in the silver version, and I can’t say that I’m shocked—it’s absolutely incredible. The top pops off Cruel Intentions style for perfume, oil or … whatever, and the exterior of the vial features belladonna—the deadly nightshade plant that accidentally kills Jimmy. Luckily, this version’s protected with a tiger’s eye gemstone at the bottom to ward off any evil.
3. Gemstone Deathwatch Beetle Pendant
You could wear this protective talisman on your favorite necklace chain or, you could mix it up with one of Awe Inspired’s genius collector pieces that allow you to dangle it from a ring or even your earrings. (I vote the latter).
4. Raven Talon Ring
The way I gasped at this elongated pear gemstone ring! With its oversized stone and raven’s claw settings, this is an absolute show-stopper, thorough and through. It’s a little pricier than the others, but with my code, it’s still less than $250.
5. Raven Prism Amulet
The amulet of the raven, an animal said to be a connector to things “beyond the veil,” will make for a powerful harbinger of fate—particularly with the gemstone of your choice at its center. The pictured black quartz, for instance, is meant to bring about spiritual awakening.
6. Book of the Raven Locket
If you’re noticing a strong raven theme here, it’s no mistake: The gothic bird plays quite a large role in the second Practical Magic film. The Book of the Raven, in particular, holds the long-standing secret to the Owens curse. (Or at least it does in the book.) While you can buy it with a metal chain for an extra $140, the beauty of Awe Inspired’s collections is that they can be worn in a multitude of ways—I actually prefer it as seen on one of the brand’s corded necklaces.
Other Witchy Finds
7. Gothic Witch Necklace
This one’s not part of the collection, but it’s still totally on theme with its gothic witchy script. White topaz accents give it a little added sparkle.
8. Fortune Teller Ring
This is probably my favorite piece on the whole site right now, even if it’s not directly Practical Magic-related. The structural hands paired with the see-through ball makes for such a unique design, I can’t take my eyes off of it—you might even call it bewitching.
9. Blood Ritual Vial Necklace
If you missed out on the silver Belladonna vial, not to fret: This one’s still up for grabs in both sterling silver and 14K gold vermeil. It opens up just like the other one for oils or fragrance, and the chain is adjustable, so you can easily layer it with your other necklaces.
