For some, luxury is a walk-in closet. A spa-like bathroom. A sauna or a home gym. For me, it’s something equally essential: a good old-fashioned coffee bar. A dedicated space for all things java, where I can prep, then savor, my barista-worthy creations, courtesy of all the most delectable coffee syrups (I’m partial to Explorer elixirs) and powders my little espresso cups can hold. For years, I salivated over Pins of these little corners of heaven in other homes. But alas, my fancy coffee machines and photo-worthy mugs simply had nowhere to shine in my always too-packed kitchen. Enter: my coffee bar idea pièce de resistance: a Trinity International Products kitchen cart ($150).
With the addition of this one singular product, sent to me by the brand, my kitchen was transformed from a chaotic space with overfilled countertops to a zen coffee oasis. My very own morning brew haven, complete with all the fixings.
Unlike the oversized cabinets and tables that typically serve as the foundation for these little java corners, this little guy is just 31.4 centimeters (that’s just under 3 feet) across. Don’t be fooled by its condensed profile, however—it actually stores a ton thanks to the two shelves and rubberwood blocktop.
I was able to fit my Bruvi, a Nespresso machine, my trusty frog-shaped coffee pod jar (his name’s Pierre, FYI), a vase with flowers, a baguette candle, a regular candle, a tower of Eiffel Tower espresso cups , a vintage coffee grinder, a decorative sign and a tea set on it—all of which used to pack my countertops to an overwhelming degree.
Now, there’s so much space below my cupboards, I don’t know what to do with it. (What’s that? “Cook?” Oh.)
Beyond minimizing the clutter in my kitchen and looking damn cute, this cart is truly as sturdy as can be. The company says it can hold up to 50 pounds, but this baby is solid. Basically, unless you’re putting your refrigerator on top of it, I don’t really see it buckling under the pressure of your appliances.
The rubberwood top is sustainable and it’s built to hold up against marring, heat exposure and impact. In other words? It’s klutz-proof, a.k.a. ideal for a gal like me.
Other fun bonuses? There’s a stainless steel bar to push it into place (and hang your decorative coffee towels from, if that’s your bag). One side also has wheels that will help you easily maneuver it into place.
Plus, it’s extremely versatile. Should I ever decide to opt for a bigger coffee bar, this cart could easily be transformed into a mini kitchen island (swoon) or a storage unit for pots and pans. The options are endless!
For now, however, I plan on allowing it to be exactly what it is: a much-needed respite from the cruelties of this world.
